Job description

Visioneers see things differently!

VITO is a technological research organization in the field of sustainable development. We perform breakthrough research to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable society. To maximize our impact, we focus our innovation in three domains:

  1. Accelerate the circularity of the economy.
  2. Improve the living environment of people.
  3. Adapt and mitigate climate change

VITO's 1300 talented visioneers provide industry and governments with excellent technological solutions, digital applications, (pilot) infrastructure and policy advice on a local and international level.

Join us to build a better future.

Within the Human Capital team, we are looking for a new colleague to help design the organisation's "Talent Management" policy and, together with the team, implement it in order to strengthen and secure VITO's "human capital" so as to achieve our organisational goals.

Are you the key to success for the growth of our employees and managers? Are you eager to join our team at short notice? Read on!

As part of your tasks:

  • You will play an active role in helping to define and implement a VITO-wide vision and approach to talent management and development. In doing so, you will always start from the strategy and the organisational and company-specific needs and development requirements;
  • You will act as a critical partner for all the questions related to the Learning & Development field, at any level within the organisation (mapping out learning needs at organisational or target group level, learning marketing & guidance, budget, approach, partner selection, and so on);
  • You will design and implement leadership development initiatives in order to cultivate talent, develop leadership as a general competency and help prepare the "next generation leaders";
  • You will help set workable frameworks for performance management, knowledge management, succession planning, talent management and (strategic) competency enhancement. Where these topics are concerned, you will obviously work very closely with the HR Business Partners team and with the person responsible for HR Data & Tooling;
  • You will help think about organisational design; you will come up with proposals and innovation regarding the design and optimisation of the organisational structure and, together with your colleagues, bring these to fruition. You will help shape job design, especially that for new positions, and propose adjustments to the job manual in close consultation with colleagues.
  • You will supervise (plan, direct and coordinate) organisational projects within the talent management field and/or support colleagues who get the projects moving. In doing so, you will pay particular attention to change management and communication;
  • You will take care of the reporting and the branding of your field of activity.
  • You can count on an excellent collaboration with your HR colleagues; (Recruiters, Business Partners, Compensation & Benefits, Support, Experts, HR Data & Tooling);
  • You will report to and work closely with the Human Capital Manager.

Job requirements

  • You hold a master's degree in HR or a related field. Either way, you will have a passion for human development;
  • You have at least 8 years' experience in a similar role within Talent Development or HR;
  • You are able to interact at the strategic, tactical and operational levels;
  • You have strong communication skills and assertiveness with a hands-on mentality. You will have the capacity to act as a mentor and a coach.
  • You are flexible, proactive and solution-oriented. Complemented by project and change management experience, you will bring various HR projects to a successful conclusion;
  • You have a good spoken and written knowledge of Dutch and English.

What can we offer you?

  • We work on activities based within VITO. Your activities will determine your work location, with your home office also being part of a possible work location. Your work location when your physical presence (minimum 50%) is required will mainly be Mol and our EnergyVille campus in Genk. Any requested presence in Berchem or Ostend will be quite exceptional;
  • A competitive salary complemented by various fringe benefits including allowances, insurance and a modular holiday package;
  • Innovation is our most important asset, which is why it goes without saying that we give our employees the opportunity for further training and development in their own fields; more than that, we expect it;
  • The opportunity to be part of an organisation with an international reputation, known for its cutting-edge technological research and scientific consultancy.

Are you enthusiastic about working in a challenging environment where the focus is always on the transition to a sustainable world? Then please do not hesitate and apply!
