Join our Grid and Energy Markets team and take an active role in shaping tomorrow’s energy markets. We are looking for a senior expert with solid experience in the energy sector, motivated to turn deep market knowledge into practical insights, tools and solutions.

In this role, you combine hands-on consulting with innovation. You support companies, system operators and policy makers with independent, science-based expertise, using advanced models and proof-of-concept tools to explore and demonstrate future energy market designs. You do not deliver standard consultancy advice, but you help stakeholders make informed decisions in a fast-evolving energy landscape — backed by robust and science-based analysis, neutrality and a strong understanding of real-world constraints.

What you will do:

• You will act as a key senior expert in the field of electricity market design, focussing on challenges and solutions related to flexibility and renewable energy integration on transmission and distribution level.

• You will lead innovative market design and market intelligence consulting services to different stakeholders in the energy value chain.

• You will develop and apply advanced analytical tools to provide our industrial customers and policy makers with indepth insights into the everchanging energy market and power system challenges.

• You will prepare high-quality science-based reports and translate complex matter into concise and actionable key messages and insights to our customers.

• You stay up to date with industry trends, current and future energy market developments and upcoming regulatory changes to keep track of current and future market needs.

• You contribute to business development by engaging with current customers and potential prospects, responding to external request to secure new innovation and advanced consulting projects.

• You actively extend your network to expand the team’s portfolio of advanced innovation consultancy assignments within your area of expertise.

• You contribute to thought leadership initiatives and leverage your advanced knowledge and experience to feed back into energy market roadmaps and strategies.

• You hold a master's degree in engineering, Economics, Engineer or another relevant study, combined with at least 5 years of relevant experience within the energy sector (consultancy, regulator, energy utility, system operator).

• You have factual knowledge of how today’s energy markets are organized in Belgium and the EU.

• You have excellent communication and networking skills.

• You have experience with tendering processes and business development and you are used to working with different energy market stakeholders.

• You are fluent in English combined with fluency in Dutch or French.
