To facilitate our growth, we are currently seeking reinforcements for our finance department!


As a Finance Business Partner at VITO, you play a key role in supporting our operational teams and research teams in financial decision-making and strategic planning. You will work closely with various departments to provide financial insights and support business objectives. This is a challenging and dynamic role where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of VITO. In this position, you will report directly to the Finance Manager and work closely with the (assigned) research unit.


Your responsibilities

Financial management

  • Preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and business cases for strategic projects.
  • Analyzing financial performance and identifying trends, opportunities, and challenges within the organization.
  • Translating financial information into actionable insights and effectively communicating them to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Performing Ad Hoc analyses and drafting improvement plans.

Strategic Planning

  • Identifying financial opportunities and risks and advising on possible strategies to improve the financial health of the group.

Stakeholder Management

  • Acting as a key liaison between the financial team and other departments within the organization, including close collaboration with the PMO of the assigned unit.
  • Close collaboration with all Business Support Services (BSS).

Reporting and Analysis

  • Providing accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management and other stakeholders at group level based on the analyses made.

Process Improvement

  • Identifying opportunities for process and data-quality improvement ànd reporting within the financial department and the broader organization at group level.

Job requirements

  • Master's degree in finance, economics, or a related field, additionally, you have excellent project management skills and/or experience as a financial auditor.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a technology driven environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial planning and analysis, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and business case analysis of complex financial concepts and translation into strategic insights.
  • Good knowledge of and skills with ERP and reporting tools, MS Powerpoint/Excel en Power BI.
  • Excellent communication skills, with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, both in Dutch and English.
