The Applied GeoAI and Embedded Solutions (AGES) team develops robust AI-driven solutions that power remote sensing, environmental monitoring, and security applications worldwide.

The Edge Data Processing and Software Engineer will work on a variety of applications in the fields of environmental monitoring and security, utilizing the latest technologies to develop solutions that address the unique challenges and opportunities of each domain.

Your responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data science and machine learning algorithms for on-board processing of remote sensing data on satellites, drones and other resource constrained edge platforms.

• Contribute to end-to-end data processing pipelines, from sensor data acquisition and on-board processing to useful data products.

• Develop supporting software infrastructure, including data interfaces, automated testing, CI/CD, logging and deployment tooling.

• Collaborate with data science, software, hardware and remote sensing teams, and contribute to customer projects.

• Contribute to technical documentation in accordance with applicable space software standards.

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Space Systems Engineering or a related field.

• Experience with data science, machine learning, image processing or scientific data processing through work, research or academic projects.

• Proven track record of building maintainable and testable software for embedded systems.

• Good knowledge and strong interest in keeping up-to-date with embedded compute architectures (GPU/TPU/SoC).

• Team player, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn.

• Excellent command of English; Dutch is a plus.

Preferred qualifications:

• Satellite, drone or airborne image processing.

• On-board or edge processing of sensor data.

• CI/CD, automated testing and container technologies.

• GIS and spatial data analysis.
