R&D Researcher Organic Analyses

Job description

Tailor-made chemical analysis

You will not often find standard and routine analytical work at VITO. The task of your future lab is to solve analytical problems that usually require a customised approach. For this we have a whole range of analytical equipment, applications and experienced colleagues with complementary expertise on board.

The lab rarely carries out standard measurements, but always works according to the client's requirements. More and more companies contact VITO's analytical lab with a challenge to which they cannot immediately find an answer themselves. Insight into chemical issues usually starts with a chemical analysis. Our analytical team proposes a plan of approach and helps find solutions. VITO tries to offer each client a tailor-made proposal.

The companies you will be working with are players in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical industries, etc. In short, anyone with a complex question can find their way to the VITO analysis lab.

In addition, the lab also delivers results for VITO's research projects in the field of sustainable materials research, health and sustainable chemistry. There is no shortage of variation within your range of tasks.

Would you like to contribute to this?

We are currently looking for a passionate researcher in organic analysis to strengthen our team. You will be responsible for the entire process of chemical analysis, from drawing up a measurement protocol to quality assurance and reporting. In addition, the development of project proposals and the planning, execution and coordination of scientific research projects are also an important part of your duties.

Preferably you have hands-on experience with a diverse range of analytical equipment and applications. Expertise in the field of LC-MS is a must. Technical knowledge is indispensable, so that you can also fulfil your role as point of contact for practical problems and troubleshooting.
